Andy and Miss Jane also attended Mini-Honors at the beginning of the convention where they attended event such as seminars, a viewing of "A Night At The Museum", and touring the Valley Forge National Park where Washington's troops spent their winters during the Revilutionary War.
AAT had a very good year for Regional Awards at the 2007 Convention. AAT member Ed Floor recieved the Hall of Honors Award and the Distinguished Chapter Member's Award. Chapter President Andy Davis accepted the awards on Ed's behalf since he was unable to attend the convention.
Amanda Shertz recieved the Officers Hall of Honors Award and the Distinguished Chapter Officer's Award. "What did you tell them about me?" was Amanda's reaction to Andy when she came down off the stage with her awards. Andy old her, "Only the truth. You earned that award on your own."
Andy Davis revieved the Chapter President's Hall of Honors Award and the Distinguished Chapter President's Award. With tears in his eyes, he hugged Amanda and Miss Jane saying, "I didn't expect to get it this year. I thought maybe next year, but not this year."
The AAT Officers Team won the Distinguished Chapter Officers Team Award (a new award for the 2007 Convention). AAT also recieved Level Five in the Five-Star Chapter Development Program, Silver and Platinum Pinnical Awards, and the Chapter Champions Award.
"It was my first Regional Convention, but deffinately not my last," Andy stated after the final session was over. "It was a wonderful and emotional time full of energy. I can hardly wait until next year. Even though I can not win the Distinguished President Award 2 years in a row, its the fellowship and the activities that I am looking forward to."
